To be a recognized Certified Celebrant in good standing, a member meets and maintains three requirements.

  1. Agree with the Core ValuesAnd practise them in every dealing connected to the Association.
  2. Uphold the Code of ConductFaithfully, in the work and outside it.
  3. Maintain annual registrationYour first year is included. After that, $49 CAD a year, invoiced on your anniversary.

In your first year

The first year is the hard one. This is built for it.

  • One free eulogy review. Send us a eulogy from a real ceremony and we will work through it with you. Feedback on your own work, for a family you actually served

After the first year it continues through the Crossroads, the membership at Life Celebrations Academy. Certified Celebrants pay 25% less, for as long as you hold certification.

For as long as you hold certification

  • An official certificate, issued as a printable PDF once your agreement form is in, for you to frame and share
  • The celebrant library, with ceremony scripts, readings, scripture, songs, the glossary and the working material, held inside Life Celebrations Academy and reached with a single login
  • Your name listed in the public celebrant directory
  • Access to the private member community
  • Ongoing support from Wayne and Rosanne Prevett and our team
  • Regular newsletters, videos and posts
What you keep, and what depends on renewal

Your certificate is yours permanently. It does not expire and no one takes it back.

Your listing in the public register and your access to the celebrant library are held through certification in good standing. If certification lapses, both stop.

Your connection to the Academy

The Certified Celebrants Association is one of the certifications of Life Celebrations Academy. Your celebrant library lives inside the Academy and comes with certification. The Academy also holds a wider body of material, including field guides, the books, and training for wedding officiants and new life celebrants, which comes with Crossroads membership.

You will be asked to sign in. Access comes with certification in good standing.

Resources and continuing training for certified celebrants are provided through the Academy. Details come with your certificate.

Your own website

Five website designs made for funeral celebrants are available to members, each set up with your name for $125 CAD a year. That includes your domain, your hosting and the template, and we add your information for you.

Why there is an annual renewal

The renewal is what keeps certification meaningful. It confirms each year that a member still stands behind the values, still holds to the Code of Conduct, and is still in good standing. That is what a family relies on when they see the certification.
